The day before yesterday it finally got warm in our apartment, recalling the summer days when we'd open the door and all the windows at dusk to exchange in the cool air. It seems so long ago...
But then today it rained and there was no sun and it was cold. I'd turn on the heat, but it just seems so ineffectual...you hear it burning gas, and the room warms up briefly but cools back down to steady-state in an hour or so. As a result, we've spent most of the winter being cold, bundled up in sweaters and/or blankets.
So up on the list of apartment search criteria (for next time): double-pane windows and doors that close properly.
